This tells you what roles your district ward councillors Neil Gregory and Richard Pavitt play in the various committees and working groups of the council.
Where indicated as a ‘Reserve’ member this means they can be called upon when there is a requirement to ensure a minimum number of members in attendance. For PLANNING and STANDARDS members undergo specialised training.
COMMITTEES OF COUNCIL:
• PLANNING COMMITTEE
The Planning Committee has the power to make decisions on planning applications.

Richard & Neil also sat on the Stansted Planning Workshop which re-examined the application made by Stansted Airport to expand its passenger throughput to 43 million per annum. The decision to allow this expansion was later reversed by the Planning Committee.
• SCRUTINY COMMITTEE
The Scrutiny Committee meets the Council’s legal obligation to monitor and scrutinise decisions of the executive.

The Standards Committee encourages and maintains high standards of conduct by the members of the authority, including town and parish councillors in the district.
